Run by Jocey Davidson, Moth is a beautiful new retail space in Albert Park selling women's fashion and jewellery from unique and exclusive labels such as Sachin and Babi, MiH Jeans, Chelsea Flower, Bishop of Seventh, Velvet by Graham & Spencer, Rachel Pally, Love Sam, Nougat, Ever, red engine, Pol and freepeople.

La Madre Bakery proudly bakes traditional and organic breads with a hands-on approach. This philosophy is carried through to La Madre's environmental awareness and ethic, as the team has developed initiatives to reduce the eco-footprint associated with baking.

We treated the re-brand as an opportunity to give La Madre more personality and unique character to differentiate them from their competition, as well as provide them with branding elements that are scalable, flexible and adaptable for maximum shelf presence.

Drawing inspiration from vintage flour tins of the 50 & 60's, the result is recognisable, comforting and a little bit quirky.

HICA approached us in late 2009 to completely overhaul their branding and associated communications. A family business with thirty years in the industry, they were understandably precious about changing any established brand recognition. However, we made a compelling case for moving their brand and graphic design forward into new territory.

The result respects HICA's 'puzzle piece' symbol but reinterprets it for a modern audience.

Market Lane is a small, specialty micro-roaster and café, located in Prahran Market, Melbourne. They source and roast specialty coffee from single farms, estates and cooperatives.

Australian foodie royalty Fleur Studd approached Swear Words to design the identity for her über-chic café at the Prahran Market. From brand-naming through to design and implementation of the website, it has been a massively rewarding process.

It was our honour to assist in rebranding the Rutherglen wine region of Victoria. Famous for producing some of the best fortified wines in the world, and a legendary exponent of Durif, Rutherglen is also home to some of the most experimental, forward-thinking and unique winemakers in Australia. With their rare, ancient rootstocks and unique terroir, Rutherglen is a region to watch.

Our goal when designing the identity system was to respect the history of the region and communicate elegance, sophistication and enthusiasm. There will be many applications to show off as the identity evolves...

Legends of wine Ben and Dan asked Swear Words to establish their identity after our work with them for Sommelier's Australia.

The Wine Guide symbols represent the action of smelling the bouquet but are also an abstract representation of a type of code. A wine code that the Wine Guide helps to decipher.

2008 is the second year in a row Swear Words has been invited to create the collateral for one of the biggest nights in the service calender. It's always a pleasure to work with the Somms crew, a bunch of clever clogs doing good stuff for the industry.

"deco" was the brief - screen printing in gold and black for invites, menus, posters and tea towels was the solution. Designer Sophie Good created a beautiful pattern identity system for the evening that is more than meets the eye.

Our challenge was to communicate the down-to-earth but savvy personality of the business, to differentiate them from their (sometimes stuffy) peers.

The solution involves a playful and strong logotype on earthy, textural stocks and imagery of the Diggers as children -- a reflection of their personality and a great icebreaker.

Peter Lovett's company Green Pass has all the services du jour - sustainability reports, emission reporting, carbon neutral certifications - to keep both the planet and your conscience clean.

Somehow we managed to incorporate all the clichés of the industry - green and blue, leaves and even a globe, all printed with vegetable inks on recycled stock - and pulled it off! It clearly communicates the ideals of the business, while standing out amongst its competitors as a clean and contemporary brand.
